How we'll grow the solar side
Our side of the deal, in plain terms: video-first ads, a proper 3-option proposal system, and an appointment flow that kills the price objection before the call even happens.
1
Video-first & price ads — the big lever
We lead with two approaches together, then evolve toward one. Price ads give a predictable cost per lead; video ads bring in warmer leads and take price off the table at the front end.
- Price ads — what's worked for other companies looking to scale: a predictable cost per lead. They do bring price up front, which takes real sales experience to handle — we help with that, getting involved with your closer on how the objections are handled.
- Scroll-stopping video ads, scripted by us — adverts built to generate leads and convert.
- Showcase real installs from 12 up to 26+ panels — so we bring in leads that show we can handle the bigger installations.
- We give you all the assets — and help with editing the ads and providing feedback to your video editor or agency.
The strategy: run price ads and video ads together to begin with, then evolve fully into a video-first approach — so leads come in warm and price isn't the opening objection.
Getting the footage — two ways:
Your own videographer
Your daughter already makes great video ads — perfect. We give her the full scripts and shot list.
Our video partner
Or you pay us to run some shoots on the installations.
What we need from you: full commitment to the content — book in the shoot slots on installs and get us the raw footage. The scripts are on us, and we'll help edit the raw footage alongside your video editor / agency.
2
The multiple-option OpenSolar proposal
Rather than sending a single product at a single price, we build it differently — every proposal gives the customer real choice, which lifts both conversion and value.
- Three options on every proposal — so the customer can choose from options, giving us the room to upsell to higher packages and better systems.
- Pricing & margins with Ryan's input — based on the other companies he works with and what's currently closing. He can feed into the pricing and how we set the meetings up.
- The proposal keeps improving — we'll build in finance options and other selling points that push a deal over the line, plus landing pages and assets across the sales process to showcase the benefits and lift conversion.
On pricing & ads: we'll agree together how the price-based ads are set up — always with the goal of moving toward a video-first approach, so we're not stuck fighting a hard price objection on the way in.
3
The appointment flow
Whether it starts as a price ad or a video ad — and we're moving toward video-first — the aim is the same: get an OpenSolar proposal in front of them, then talk it through.
1Video ad / price adThe lead comes in off the ad — moving toward a video-first approach over time.
2Capture the detailsGet a map pin of the property and their annual electricity usage — the two things we need to design the system.
3OpenSolar proposal sent by emailThe multiple-option proposal goes over by email, with a discussion with the client.
4Call to discuss costsJump on a call to walk through the options and the price.
5CloseThey pick an option and pay a deposit.
6Home survey — only if neededRare, since they've already seen the options and price. If a warm lead asks, Eco2 goes out to survey.
